Proposed Gaya-Nalanda MRT link
Recently the Narendra Modi government of India announced a huge new package for Bihar. Included in this is development of an Airport and tourist facilities. Here is a proposal from this blog that shall give a boost to

  1. International Tourism from all of  East Asia and the world
  2. Nalanda University
  3. Province of Bihar
The proposal is to;

  1. Upgrade Gaya Airport to International Standards
  2. Construct high speed mono-rail link connecting, airport, Bodh gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda ruins, Nalanda university and any other places of tourist interest nearby
  3. Transfer Nalanda ruins from ASI to Nalanda University or to a joint cell of both.
  4. Construct an auditorium/ convocation/ orientation hall at Nalanda Ruins for University use and for annual interantional cultural festivals in tourist seasons showcasing Buddhist culture from all of Asia. The exterior architectural style of hall and hotel must conform to existing style of ruins whereas interior styles could be inspired from Ajanta as shown below
The link of this idea shall be tweeted to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
NOTE: Map shown is an approximate schematic for concept only. Precise locations and alignments will depend on survey and mapping.
